Natural

The natural surface of PA 11 has a stone-gray color with a grainy structure. Slight variations in color may occur throughout your model and between different models. If you want a uniform look, we recommend the Dyed finish.

Dyeing

We can add color to your parts by submerging them in a bath containing black pigment. The color intensity may vary due to the unique nature of the production process, e.g., parameters, build position, light deflection, and differences caused by post-processing.

As with most post-production processes, extra labor is required, and this will add a minimum of 1 working day to the lead time.

Polishing

It’s possible to polish your 3D-printed model to create smoother surfaces. To polish models, we use a mechanical smoothing process. Your model is put into a tumbler with pebbles that smooth your model while the tumbler vibrates at a high frequency.

Due to the tumbling process, the outer edges and features will appear darker than the rest of the model. If you desire a uniform color, we recommend selecting the polishing and dyeing option below.

As with most post-production processes, extra labor is required, and this will add one working day to the lead time.

Polishing and dyeing

It’s possible to polish and dye your 3D-printed model to create smooth and colored objects. Polishing and dyeing is a finishing technique that combines two consecutive steps, namely polishing and then dyeing. To polish models, we use a mechanical smoothing process. Your model is put into a tumbler with pebbles that smooth your model while the tumbler vibrates at a high frequency. To color models, we use a dyeing process where your model is submerged in a bath containing color pigment.

This finish is available in Black.

As with most post-production processes, extra labor is required, and this will add 2 working days to the lead time.
