Description

Tandem Maze Too is a variation of the vintage Tandem Maze puzzle. The new design tries to stay as close as possible to the original Tandem Maze pattern. Unlike the original, no balls or awkward dexterity is needed. Instead, it is a see-through maze with pins going through it. The puzzle has now two bars, instead of one. Each bar has a thick and thin end, and the maze has associated thick and thin dots. This way, each bar has orientation. The two bars have different colors, matching with the colors (and sizes) of the dots. The object of the maze is to swap the two bars, and have the thick ends at the thick dots. The new puzzle adds lots of difficulty/fun to the original design. It has, hidden in plain sight, a parking space, a turning space, a roundabout and a passing place. None of these can be used when either bar is at "A-a" or "B-b". One bar needs to be moved to the parking space, in order to have the other bar use the turning space of to go to the passing space. It is a lot of fun to get all the logistics right, and swap the two bars properly.
