Description

Steam Punk Twist Cube Double Puzzle

3x World 1st's !

1 ) This is the world's first 3D printed cube twist puzzle that is printed complete/ in whole: there is no need at all for any assembly of parts.

2) It is also the world's first cube twist double puzzle (explained below).

3) It is the world's first cube twist double puzzle with cut-out patterns. No colour -stickers- needed !

The cube measures 5.7 x 5.7 x 5.7 cm. It is in Steam Punk style with a riveted cast iron look. It has patterned elements visible on the outside that can be turned/twisted around the corners. Whilst turning the outside elements, patterned elements hidden within the cube become visible, these turn on the corners. All elements are patterned with cut-out shapes. The patterned outside elements form a puzzle on the outside: in solved position each cube face shows four triangles with matching pattern. The patterned inside elements form a puzzle on the inside: in solved position there are eight faces on the cube inside that show three triangles with matching pattern. After scrambling the elements, you can either solve the outside puzzle or the inside puzzle, or both the outside - and inside puzzle together: a double puzzle !

Caution: polished recommended ! (read before you decide to buy): This puzzle has been designed to be 3D printed with the various elements minimally touching each other at certain points (to prevent elements to be too loose after 3D print). After printing you have to initially force the elements to turn/twist the first time to free them up. After that it becomes easier to twist the elements around. When ordering the puzzle unpolished, it will be more difficult to 'break' the elements free compared to the polished version, because the polishing involves vibration which helps to loosen the elements up.

This puzzle-sculpture has been specifically designed and tested to be 3D SLS printed using polyamide. This version is not suitable for printing in other materials (like steel), the moving parts would simply fuse together. Specific versions for other materials (metals for instance) may follow in the future.
