Description
Simple Slide was proposed by David Tzur. David managed to prototype a 2x2x2 cube, in which one quarter can be slid up and down. Then David asked Oskar whether he could make the other three quarters slide up and down as well. Simple Slide is the result. When the four quarters are at their neutral state, the cube functions like a 2x2x1, but no rotation of the sliding parts. Each of the quarters can be slid upor down by half a unit. When all four quarters are slid up or down, then the emergent middle layer can be turned. The puzzle is related to the Q-Borg Pill puzzle, which has a sliding half.
