Description

Is there a tricyclo[6,6,0,0^ {4,11}]tetradecane?

Known twistane, i.e. tricyclo[4.4.0.0^{3,8}]decane, we could then name “hexatwistane”. Note that those names do not refer to some polytwistanes here. Trying to find the structure, this model has been made. It shows a third result - without the hydrogens as usual. Vertexes and C-C bonds of the lower and upper bridges, although not perfectly aligned, look good now. Think that there is no perfect solution. The optimum “magic” angle between adjacent bonds is - guess - about 118 degrees. This is way more than slightly different from the theorethical ~109,47°.

To all the chemists out there: How would you synthesize this molecule and are there any ways to “polyoctatwistanes”?
