Master Face-Turning Rhombic Dodecahedron

The Master FTRD is a dual-layered face-turning rhomic dodecahedron. It is one of the most perfect puzzles I’ve designed.  It turns very smoothly, and feels solid and robust, despite its ridiculous part-count.

Note that it takes quite a lot of work to assemble and sticker this one, and the first turn of each layer will make you think your puzzle is super-glued together.  But once you get that first turn to happen, it is smooth as butter from then on.

To build this puzzle, you will need:

• The model on this page.
• 12 screws around 5/8" (~16mm) long.  This puzzle is designed for #2-56 screws, but M2 screws would probably work as well.
• A set of stickers from Chewie’s Custom Puzzles.
