Description

Horse tram carriage body part

Horse tram 1-25 model B (with route boards)

The first horse tram started running in Rotterdam in 1879 by the Rotterdam Tramweg Maatschappij (RTM). The first 25 carriages were built by Beijens and had three windows on the side. The horse carriages ran on all lines and were gradually replaced by electric trams in 1905-07. A number of carriages lasted a long time and were taken out of service until the motorization of the Rotterdam - Overschie line in 1925.

About 50 horse-drawn tram carriages were converted into trailers behind the electric trams and the last ones were removed in 1931. Because the RTM also operated horse tram lines elsewhere in the Netherlands, these tram carriages have been seen throughout the country. The remaining horse tram carriages were also sold after the electrification of the Rotterdam tram network.

Please note, the floor plates can be used with wagon bodies A, B, C, D and E.

Floor plates, wheels and wagon bodies are separate purchases.

Designed Halling 9mm wheels with blunt axles. Because Halling no longer sells spoke wheels, 3D printing wheels are available as an alternative. The trolley body and floor plate can be screwed together with Piko 55298 (an alternative is the Marklin K7599 screws).

Horse is not included in the design.

My passion is making HO scale models of urban transport, such as bus, tram and metro and rail work vehicles. This is mainly Rotterdam equipment (Netherlands), I also have a preference for Japanese tram vehicles.
