Ever dream of going into a store and customizing an item to be 3D printed? Well, now customers of Auchan’s store in Lille can go to Yoomake, an in-store kiosk, to make “mini-me” figurines, jewelry, trophies and medals to be 3D printed at i.materialise. Tweak it, build it: unique 3D printed trophies by Twikit
Enough with the generic, uninspired metal medals. Three friends, Martijn, Gijs and Georges, just introduced their company Twikit. Winning will now be even sweeter thanks to their 3D printed personalized trophies.
Winning is great. But everytime I see the medals and trophies I can’t help myself thinking: ‘Again?’ For years, there haven’t been big changes or innovations in the trophy market to supply the winners with a hip and glam -3D printed- medal they deserve. Till now! Belgian based company Twikit is ready to change that industry. Martijn Joris, one of the founders: “We see ourselves as an exponent of the ‘makers’ era with a strong consumer oriented point of view. Live Update from the Materialise World Conference
Twenty-five years ago, a young research engineer saw a 3D printer for the first time. Seeing this novel technology in action immediately sparked his interest and, more importantly, his imagination. Viva Las Vegas – i.materialise looks back at CES 2015
Taking place in Las Vegas from January 6th to 9th, this year marked the second edition of the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 3D Printing Marketplace. Organized by the intrepid team at TCT Magazine + Personalize, it was i.materialise’s first time participating in the event. Just like the awe-inspiring hotels and casinos of its host city, it goes without saying that CES was an incredibly huge and impressive event with more than 150,000 visitors. (more…)
