Introducing Improved API Documentation
In the summer of 2011, Tinkercad, the easy-to-use, browser based 3D design tool for all, launched a one-click integration with i.materialise. We were the first online 3D printing service that could print models straight from Tinkercad. This would have never been possible without our API (Application Programming Interface). The interfaces (API) that allows your apps or websites to connect with our systems, have grown tremendously ever since, so we improved and revamped all the documentation that surrounds it. Ever dream of going into a store and customizing an item to be 3D printed? Well, now customers of Auchan’s store in Lille can go to Yoomake, an in-store kiosk, to make “mini-me” figurines, jewelry, trophies and medals to be 3D printed at i.materialise. Throwback Thursday: Getting Ready for Take Off
In the summer of 2009, the first version of i.materialise was ready. One month before going live, we tested the whole process of support, file fixing, production and logistics on 700 Materialise colleagues worldwide. This alpha test invited everyone to print one project for free and it taught us a lot about running an online 3D printing service.
