Entering Metal Month

Introducing this month's theme

It’s the beginning of a new month and with it comes the beginning of a new time… a time to dive into the wonderful metallic materials that we offer here at i.materialise. Yes… this is our METAL MONTH where you get to enjoy our Stainless Steel, Titanium, Silver & Gold while witnessing the launch of even more metallic materials throughout the month. There are two wonderful design challenges with one of them starting today! And as cherry on top, we are offering a 10% discount on all metal orders with the use of a promo code. Do you like where this is going? Great! Let’s dive into the details…

The Metal Awesomeness you will find in our gallery

To give our community a better overview of what Metal Month is all about, we have put together a theme page in our gallery where you can browse what our designers have come up with in our metal materials. Below you’ll find some examples up close, and don’t forget to have a look around in the gallery for further inspiration!

All you have to do is upload your design that is to be printed in any of our metals and add the promo code when proceeding with your payment. And for those that don’t have a design to upload but still want to enjoy this promo code, no worries… this promo code is also valid for all metallic items that are for sale in our gallery. The Bead Design Challenge

To kick Metal Month off with a bang, we’ve also got a nice design challenge in store for you. It’s the Bead Design Challenge where you get to design a single bead to add to a bead bracelet. The measurements have to fit within a bounding box of 1x1x1cm as bracelet beads aren’t really that big to begin with. The challenge runs from today until the end of the month which is June 30th. So get your imagination flowing as the possibilities are endless. You can go for a soft and elegant approach and design a nice bead for yourself or your partner or you can go Heavy Metal and bring out the skulls and spikes! It all depends on you as a designer… More info on this design challenge can be found at its Challenge Page. In the meantime… I’ve taken the below examples from Google images to provide you with some inspiration.

And now one for the tough guys amongst you...

Please do note that the skull beads that you see above have been beautifully handcrafted by www.heavymagicleather.com. Even though it’s perfectly possible to 3D print such amazing designs we strongly recommend you have a look at their amazing work. We would also like to stress that all of the above beads have undergone some form of finishing work and serve only as a starting point of inspiration.

Now it’s your turn!

Do you feel the urge for Metal inside you too? Then jump in and become a part of this wonderful Metal Month. Participate in the design challenges, design something fun and upload it or simply get yourself or family some nice 3D printed metallic gifts from our gallery at a reduced price! The time is now… don’t hesitate, just do it!
