Description

Overdrive Cube is a geared twisty puzzle. It has four layers and eight wedges. The wedges turn similar to the Masterball, albeit using a more classic mechanism with a core and screws. Some of the parts have gears that connect the layers. As gears cannot pass each other, the puzzle acts bandaged. Also, one can turn the top or bottom freely by turning all gears to the same layer.

The mechanism has a whopping five shells.

-Shell 1: inner 1x2x2 core

-Shell 2: three rotating "centers" at 45 degrees from the core axes

-Shell 3: eight wedges hooking into the centers and core

-Shell 4: outer pieces that slide through grooves in ther wedges

-Shell 5: gears

Due to the large number of shells, the puzzle is a bit wobly and hard to keep aligned.
