Description

A body for an LNWR Webb Compound 4-4-0 of the 1890s. The loco is intended to fit the chassis from a loco-drive Hornby Midland Compound that is available to be purchased here:

Please note that the tender is not particularly suitable for fitting onto the tender chassis supplied with the donor loco, and is even less suitable for use with older tender drive models. I suggest fabricating a chassis for the tender, possibly from wagon parts. The tender body can be fitted onto the chassis included with the donor loco but it is not recommended as it requires a lot of grinding, chopping, trimming and fabrication to achieve. I've tried.

Please also note that the inside of the loco body will require some fettling to get it to fit the chassis, and a small portion of the chassis casting may have to be removed.

South Coast Railway Models

Models based on my interest in British Railways Southern Region, The LSWR, LBSCR and London Underground, with much more besides. I am currently developing a range of locomotive body kits and rolling stock kits for the LBSCR, LSWR, SECR, LNWR, GER, NLR and a few others besides. I have also been designing a few models for the very earliest periods in British Railway History. The first kits to be released will be for the LSWR Class G6 0-6-0T along with the Stockton & Darlington Railway's No.25 'Derwent', to be followed by the LSWR Class T3 4-4-0. The current planned range is shown below: LBSCR LSWR Class D1 0-4-2T Class T3 4-4-0 Class E1 0-6-0T Class G6 0-6-0T Class E1r 0-6-2T* Class A12 0-4-2 Class D2 0-4-2 Class F9 4-2-2T Class D3 0-4-4T Class T9 4-4-0** Class E3 0-6-2T Class C14 2-2-0T Class E5 0-6-2T Class S14 0-4-0T Class E6 0-6-2T Class K10 4-4-0 Class C2 0-6-0 Class T14 4-6-0 Class C2x 0-6-0 Class T7 4-4-0 Class C3 0-6-0 Class F13 4-6-0 Class B1 0-4-2 Class E14 4-6-0 Class B2 4-4-0 Class 700 0-6-0** Class B4 4-4-0 Class 395 0-6-0 Class J 4-6-2T Class G14 4-6-0 Class J1 4-6-2T Class P14 4-6-0 Class L 4-6-4T Class 445 4-4-0 All of the above are subject to suitable drawings being available, but all are firmly on my personal 'wishlist' so are likely to take priority over subjects from other companies. *Maunsell Rebuild of original LBSCR design, therefore unsuitable for pre-grouping layouts. **Original (As-built) condition only, as there is an RTR model already available for the rebuilt versions.
