Welcome to “3D Printing World”!
In Iidabashi, Tokyo you will find the Printing Museum, Tokyo, a museum that is completely dedicated to printing and the role that it played in our world’s development. Starting with the birth of the craft to the current high tech 3D printing technology. No wonder it is a place we love! So we didn’t have to think twice when they asked us if we wanted to participate in an exhibition around 3D printing.
“Toppan is one of the largest global 2D printing companies. The fact that they also show an interest in 3D printing proves that organizations are increasingly realizing the benefits offered by this new technology. Not only with regard to everyday objects but for a variety of products including jewelry and art objects.”
Tsuyoshi Kobayashi, marketing specialist at i.materialise Japan
The exhibition is organized under the supervision of Fablab Shibuya and shows visitors the history of 3D printers. It enables them to understand the 3D printing process and see the most recent cutting edge output products. Visitors can view some of the actual printing equipment and models that have been produced. The collection consists of some beautiful 3D printed metal jewelry, rubber-like models and multicolor sculptures.
The Welcome to “3D Printing World” exhibition opened on March 11 and visitors can enjoy it till the first of June. Admission is free. Definitely worth a visit!
