Fluid Forms & i.materialise partnership announced
We”re pleased to announce our partnership with Fluid Forms. Fluid Forms is an Austrian team of designers that have been working on creative design tools since 2005. Their tools are fun ways that let you customize and individualize your own designs. Using Fluid Forms you can for example virtually box your own lamp design or get your own personalized wall clock based on an overhead view of streets of your choice.
We”re very happy to be able to work with such an experienced design team. Fluid Forms makes personalization not only easy but also fun. With their creative and enganging online tools and our 3D printing expertise we hope to be able to offer you many great personalized products in the future. For us this is yet another important step in seeking out the best design talent we can and working with them to help them create and promote their work.
We will be handling the production of three great Fluid Forms designs the Silver Earth Cufflinks, the Silver Earth Pin and the Silver Earth Pendant. These designs will be 3D printed in wax and then cast in Sterling Silver. These will also mark our entry into offering you silver products. 3D wax printing has been used for many years by jewlery designers & goldsmiths to produce unique and series pieces of jewels. We hope that by showcasing great designs and letting you personalize your own Silver designs we can bring this creation in silver to you. We hope to soon be able to offer you the ability to upload and get your own designs produced in silver to a very high quality too.
The Silver Earth Cufflinks  is designed by Hannes Walter and Stephen Williams of FluidForms. Well actually its also designed by you and Google Maps. Simply pick a zip code, a city a place of significance to you. Maybe where you met that special someone or maybe a place that signifies a special time in your life. It could be Paris or it could be a small village, any place really. This will then be transformed into silver and you can carry the topography (and memory) of that place with you wherever you go. A pair of Earth Cufflinks would cost 300 Euro ($419). You can try it out right now below.
The Silver Earth Pin work on the same principle a pin  of a place of your choice would cost 330 Euro ($461).

Another great thing is that you can embed these creation tools in your own website or blog and let people create them there.
