Fabster: A shopping window full of 3D printing goodies
What started as a hobby for the Australian Peter Sayers with the famous Facebook group ‘3D Printing and Physibles’ in March 2012 resulted in Fabster, a wonderful shopping window for 3D printing goodies!
Peter Sayers: “When I started the group 3D Printing and Physibles in 2012 I had no clue it would rose to become one of the largest 3D printing Facebook groups (over 38,000) members. I wanted to create something bigger, something that would spread the word of 3D printing a little more.”
Peter noticed there was a need for artists and companies to be able to display their 3d printed portfolios within a mutual territory for all. Based on that need, and almost 1 year of sleepless nights, lots of coffee, chocolate, red bull, and a sugar addiction that borderlines diabetes, he collaborated with a team of programmers to develop a platform which allows the world to see what can be achieved with 3D printing.
“That’s how Fabster.com came alive: as an independent 3D printing Community that allows designers, 3D printer manufacturers & 3D printing services to display their portfolio. If someone wants to buy the article he or she will be redirected to the website where you can buy the actual item.”
