Hi John! Welcome to the forum. If you’re interested in getting started with 3D printing, it might make sense to work with a 3D designer at first: https://i.materialise.com/en/hire-a-3d-designer

Hello this is Lucy Jung im from south Korea living in UK. I use rhino for 3D modelling and currently planning to get some printing done through imaterialise as college tutors recommended you. I did lots of 3D printings through college , project… but never done metal -
My projects are for patient centred medical devices.

;)!

Hi Lucy,
Nice to meet you and thank you for introducing yourself! You can learn all about our metal materials here: https://i.materialise.com/en/3d-printing-materials/metals

We look forward to printing your first models

Hi I am Mahmood From IRAQ-BAYBLON

Hello, I’m a mechanical design engineer by day who also enjoys building scale models of industrial plants I help design. My name is Bill March and I’m from New York currently in Alabama for work, but hoping to perhaps return to Houston again. I joined this site because I learned through a blog story on “extreme 3d printing” on ponoko.com of an amazing 3-D model done by i.materialise of a Linde AG refining plant based on a real plant in Chile. I’m very intrigued & would very much like to learn more of that project, & how I can scale that model to my needs, as well as develop similar models to 1/87 based on the same shapes & patterns. At this point, money is not so much the concern as much as time is. Thank you in advance for your help & direction.

Hi Stephanie

I did try thru your site customer window box comments thing - nothing - hence trying this forum after 6 days. Maybe it’s something that needs to be addressed.

Hi David,

Sorry to hear that - that shouldn’t be the case! I will pass on your feedback so we can fix this issue as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
Stephanie

Hello,
I am Swetabjo from Germany.

I am new to the imaterialse world. Working as an architect in Germany as a full time day job and making footwear as a side hobby.

I have been printing and working with soft/flexible materials a lot in the past years using FDM Printers. I am very much interested in making High heels which combines soft and hard materials.

Hi Swetjabo,
Welcome to the i.materialise forum! If you’re interested in making 3D-printed shoes, you should definitely check out some of our previous projects with shoe designers for inspiration:

I am John , i live in Brighton UK , narried with 3 grown up daughters.
I served in the British Army for 24 years.
i am retired now . I don`t design or print , i just get the file printed and paint it.
I collect most British modern military weapons and figures , i was introduced to imaterialise by a fella who was teaching me fusion 360 , but gave that up as my brain is not big enough for that.
I have a guy who i pay to make my print files, but will have a good look around the forum
hello to you all

Hello All,
My name is Eleni and live in London. My background is Software engineer and I started looking into 3D printing after I realised how expensive is to produce anything with injection moulding .
I have used i.materialize to print some prototypes of my product and I am considering a small production as well. My product at the moment is an anti-stress pen and the e-shop is this if you want to have a look, https://shop.writewithbar.com . After all, Imaterialize printed it for me  At the moment I am trying to understand the recyclability of the MJF TPU and how it works. For example: can I send you back the product and you can recycle it? Do I just throw it to the recycle bin?

Happy to meet you all

Hello everyone!
My name is Klaris. I am from Germany.
I am fond of technical innovations and Artificial Intelligence.
I am working in a company 3D Generation which produces 3D figures of people and animals like this

I am sincerely glad that I can work in this area. But I am a newbie in 3d printing so I have a lot of questions about 3D models, 3D printing, materials and so on. I hope that I will find a lot of interesting things in this community.
At least, I was already inspired by the stories of its participants, which surprisingly combine different areas of activity with 3D printing. This is unbelievable!
Good luck to you all!

Hi everyone!
My name is Pierre and I’m from Quebec Canada. I’m a mechanical Designer and PDM specialist with Solidworks as a freelance. I’m used to 3d print (have some 3d printers at home) and I use Simplify3d as my prefered slicer. I print with PLA and PETG aswell.

I specialized in sheetmetal models and started to 3d printe them. I am discovering the proto plasta stainless steel and the carbon fiber with FDM printer. I’m used to R&D and I love it.

Hope this is giving a short but good introduction to myself.

Best regards
Pierre

Hello,

I’m Daniel Swanson from Clearwater, Florida

I’ve been a full-time freelance computer artist since 1987, working exclusively on Apple computers.

My wife and I currently design books. Samples are at www.van-garde.com

In recent years I’ve become very interested in 3D printing, and my current new dream is to design, manufacture, and sell jewelry.

I’ve been a Foundry Modo user for years, and it’s well-suited to design jewelry.

Though I’ve used ■■■■■■■■■.com for years to manufacture various designs, I’m experiencing various difficulties in fully setting up my shop. So I want to check out iMaterialize as a possible alternative.

Hi I’m Ford Smith from Atlanta Georgia USA. My Business name is The Vintage Smith

I am a full time Jewelry Designer and caster. I use Art Cam and Rhino. For the past 22 years I have made models using a milling machine which recently died of old age and the lack of parts. I am debating on getting a new milling machine or a 3D printer.

Hi I’m a creative belgium boy, i’m looking for new opportunity with belgium enterprise, i’m using blender all night long :stuck_out_tongue: I’m french speaker and working with 3D printer with non profit since 2010, now i’m looking for new opportunity and I want to share my first project by kickstarter.

Hi I am Edd Bax (MadEdd) from the Netherlands.
I am a designer and specialised employee at Antwerp University, Faculty of Design Sciences, in the model making workshop.
Besides that, I run my own business in 3D design, 3D scanning called CTd by Edd. My workshop is in the former shower area in an obsolete swimming hall.
I design parts for prototyping, art works or educational stuff.
The last thing I ordered are a complete alphabet of small hands for a finger spelling teacher.
Most design are made by Fusion360, but in the Makersbase Breda, where I also am employed, we use Tinkercad, for the kids and starters. I have my own 3D printers: a Prusa MK3s with MMU and an Elegoo Mars Pro 2 resin printer. I order my design when a customer wants a larger amount of prints, or when ordered prints are in a material I can’t print.
