Description

Soma Flex is yet another brilliant packing problem, designed by Volker Latussek. The object of the puzzle is to pack the seven classic Soma pieces into a 3x3x3 cage. The hole seems large enough for this purpose, but things don't seem to fit. The trick is that the red piece is made of flexible material. So this piece can be swiveled in by slightly compressing. The puzzle is quite elegant, as the cage and pieces are all symmetrical, but because of the one flexible piece, the single solution is asymmetrical.

Please order a 3D-printed do-it-yourself puzzle kit from iMaterialise at this page (check with Oskar about screws and stickers), or contact Oskar directly if you are interested in obtaining a fully colored, stickered and assembled sample of this puzzle.
