Description

I present my Quarter Inch Hex Bit Pen, designed to be used in hex bit holders or extender s, as a modular keychain pen. It can however be used on it's own, for short messages and notes, without discomfort.

The version 07 has been designed for printing specifically in the High Detail Stainless Steel material. The pen in the photos has the matte finish.

To complete the assembly, a Cross Matrix ballpoint refill is required, as well as an M3x3mm grub screw (set screw), which retains the refill. These items are not included.

For the back portion of the pen, although the required thread has been designed into the model, it will need an M3 tap passed through it, to clean up the thread, for the grub screw.

The central hole of the pen may also need to be drilled out slightly, in case the printed pen body does not end up being completely straight. When drilling, make sure not to drill all the way through the centre and widen the diameter at the tip, as this narrowed point is what the refill is held against.

The outer faces may need a small amount of sanding, to ensure a correct fit with the specific bit holder chosen.

Tofty

Hi, I am a part time designer, 3D modeller, engineer and machinist who specialises in torches (flashlights) and EDC (every day carry) items. My goal is to help 3D printing flourish into a widely used manufacturing process beyond it's current perceived limits. One of my current projects is to produce a completely 3D printed torch body to the high standards expected in the custom torch making community while using some of the production advantages only available via 3D printing. I hope you like my work so far and find it of interest. Cheers, Tofty
