Description

Top & bottom cover for replacement body / chassis compatible with Hubsan X4 parts inspired by racing cars / bikes with F1 style side-pods & radiators as well as exposed triangulated chassis members to give it that naked sports bike look. The main flight controller board is exposed through the top panel letting the LEDs on the board shine and also further exaggerating the cyborg prototype style.

NOTE: Accessory part only- the panels on top & bottom show in red in the photos. See the main chassis part.

Sold as a pair which will need separating by cutting the supports connecting the panels but not the tabs. This is best used as the top cover, however may also be used on the bottom if you haven't added a camera module as this has different space requirement for each type of camera (basic recording camera or full FPV module).

Use of this cover on the frame when a camera component is also used in the drone is not advised but is possible if you modify the frame to fit (cut / trim one of the internal supports).

IMPORTANT! There were a couple of minor issues with my print which I want to be completely open about- I had a version printed in polished polyamide, there were some issues with fitting and you can see in the photos that there are a couple of splits in the triangulated parts on the front of the arms, this may not happen with your print or may be worse but these are decorative only and not structural parts. The fit of the top and bottom panels was also a little loose, this may be because of the polishing however these parts are covers only so are also not essential. The shape of the LEDs housings had warped on mine, I resolved this by grinding the edge off the LED rather than drilling the frame also only the lower LEDs are currently fitted in the pictures as I shorted one :D I am not sure if you will have the same issues but only the decorative parts are thin to reduce weight as this does need to fly!
