Meter Cover for Yamaha FZX - 3D scan from brand new Yamaha part number 1UF-83559-00.
I had it 3D scanned because Yamaha, in all their glorious wisdom decided to discontinue cosmetic plastic parts for the FZX motorbikes, and I wanted an easy replacement option. I offer this part for sale, because I know I am not alone in the desire to keep my FZX nice running and good looking. :)
More parts (swingarm bolt covers, carb covers) are to come. Probably, I will have the headlight housing, tachometer and speedometer covers also scanned in the future.
The laser sintered material (SLS PA) is more flexible than the original ABS Yamaha used, but made (considering the strength) a good enough impression for me. After all, the part is just a cosmetic cover and not a structural part.
I needed a spacer for a gap free installation on my FZX! The Spacer had an outer diameter of less than 18mm, an inner diameter of more than 11mm and is 2mm thick.
Part has a grainy, matte finish - in contrast to the original part, which is shiny black!
There are a few, minor artifacts from the scan in the screwhole - areas. However, the visible surfaces are good.
