Description
Gasoline tram / petrol trams
Between 1924 and 1928, petrol trams ran on the Rotterdam - Overschie tram line. This line started in 1884 as a steam tram line of the IJsel Stoomtramweg-Maatschappij (IJSM) and was taken over by the Rotterdamse Tramweg Maatschappij (RTM) in 1890 after a fatal accident. The RTM later RETM ran until the arrival of the petrol trams with horse-drawn carriages.
These petrol trams have been converted from old horse tram carriages from the Rotterdam - Hilgersberg tram line. In 1924 and 1925, 5 former horse tram carriages were converted and equipped with two T-Fort engines to motorize the line Rotterdam - Overschie. The cars ran until they were replacing by busses in 1928.
Please note, because there are different versions, the floor plates and body are purchased separately.
The wagon body and floor plate can be screwed together with Piko 55298 (an alternative is the Marklin K7599 screws).

My passion is making HO scale models of urban transport, such as bus, tram and metro and rail work vehicles. This is mainly Rotterdam equipment (Netherlands), I also have a preference for Japanese tram vehicles.
