Press-fitting a metal nut (Polyamide SLS)

What are the tolerances for press-fitting a metal nut into my design? I will make a 3 mm deep pocket to a 5 mm thick wall and want to partially embed an M3 nut into it. The nut will be embedded by 3 mm of its height and the wall will remain another 2 mm thick behind the nut.

My question is for width tolerances. The M3 nut (DIN 917) is hexagonal and has a width of 5.5 mm (see “s” on the image). What width of the pocked to I need? I want the nut to nicely hold in place even with vibrations etc.

Here are dimensions of my nut:

DIN%20917

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us. The questions you ask are very technical. We do not have any experience for these questions at i.materialise. If you are a company, we suggest to contact another department. Here you can find the link to their website : https://www.materialise.com/en/manufacturing/materialise-onsite

Hi Koltie,

Did you find the accuracy on the material page :

If the model is not too big, I suggest you make a few designs and try out which design fits the best ?
