Description

Pseudo Chop came up in a discussion at the Twisty Puzzles Forum. By using the twisty-puzzle exporation software by Diogo Sousa, an interesting geometry was found that looks deep cut, as all cuts go through the origin of the sphere. However, the cuts have orientation in Pseudo Chop. Because of this, the parts can be kept together by a rails mechanism with male and female rails.

The puzzle has two rotation axes, one with five-fold geometry and another with three-fold geometry. The puzzle is doctrinaire.

Carl Hoff describes the looks of the puzzle as “Poor oral hygiene Pac-Man goes to the disco”. (Insert West-Virginia joke here). That tooth was added to complete the nineth pentagram on the sphere.
