100%-to-scale model of UMI CKB Mello 6 trumpet-shank marching mellophone mouthpiece, intended to be very close to the original design.
Based on the classic Benge Mello 6, the deep cup and throat create a rather dark sound on mellophone and trumpet. On trumpet, the sound tends toward dark cornet, and might resemble flugelhorn ("flumpet"). Intonation in the upper register is not guaranteed to be stable on trumpet, but this model is generally balanced in most ways.
The design is a good match for the Amati-Kraslice ABG-203 bugle (compact British-type) and the ABG-223 bugle (M1892-type field trumpet).
No dimensions have been adjusted or modified for printing or cutting. This model is intended for experimentation. For verification, the STL has overall length 74.03 mm / 2.914", and [greatest] outer diameter of 27.03 mm / 1.064".
Note that the shank opening is thin and fragile with resin prints.
