Imaginary Cube

Description

This puzzle is an interesting variation on the classic 3x3 that behaves like a deeper-than-origin-turning circle cube. One block of pieces around a corner is bandaged which forces only three layers on the puzzle to turn. By doing this, it implements many of the so-called "imaginary" piece types from the complex 3x3, which provide a unique and challenging solving experience.

This puzzle is sold as a DIY kit directly from i.materialise and as an assembled copy from me. Due to the nature of the printing and production process, the DIY kit pieces will have excess powder inside of them that must be cleaned by hand (use a small metal tool and an air compressor to do this). You will also need to supply yourself eight M3 screws (10mm length), and (optionally) eight springs for assembly. The stickers for this puzzle are available here.

Note: Due to the nature of this puzzle, it takes quite a bit more work to clean and break in the parts compared to some of my other designs.
