Description

Boca Cube is the result of a design challenge by Melinda Green. Melinda was wondering whether one could build a twisty puzzle with no overall symmetry  whatsoever. Boca Cube may qualify. This puzzle has local two, three and fourfold symmetries, but no overall symmetry. It has five rotating centers, 12 edges, 14 corners and a core with a mouth-shaped hole. The puzzle has the same axes geometry as Melty C, but with a dihedral angle of 77.8695 degrees. Even though the puzzle may qualify Melinda's criteria, it feels a bit like cheating. Symmetry could easily be returned by restoring the sixth Melt-C axis, or by including an axis diametrally opposite to the top axis.

Some trivia. This puzzle was designed during a visit to George and Roxanne Miller in Boca Raton, Florida, USA. Boca Raton means "mouth of a mouse".
