Karen Wuytens
After starting a career as a speech therapist, I returned to school to pursue another passion: jewelry design. In 2004, I completed a Masters in Jewelry Design & Silversmithing at the Provinciale Hogeschool Limburg (PHL). Since 2005, I have been sharing my knowledge of jewelry design, teaching at several educational institutes throughout Belgium. Currently I can be found at the MAD-faculty in Limburg where I give lessons in Objects and Jewelry while pursuing a PhD about new methods for the design of jewelry, including 3D printing. I use 3D printing, and the freedom of design that it allows, to create pieces of incredible delicacy and beauty. My designs serve as an example of what designers can achieve when they harness the power of 3D technologies.
