Why is MJF so much cheaper than SLS? And other questions

So ive just come across i Materialise, after finding ■■■■■■■■■ far too expensive for the project I’m working on.
The prices here look great, But one question is coming up in my mind.
Why is MJF so much cheaper? I thought MJF was newer tech and thus would be either more expensive or inline with SLS?

My project will cost about 95 quid in black Polymide MJF but in SLS its about 130ish…

Is this an error in the system or just a great value?

This is all in pounds btw, which brings me to my other question. The project I’m working on is with a design partner who is US based, for a client who is Singapore based, I’m UK based, I think the site automatically detected I was UK based and set my currency to pounds, as I think I materialise is based in the EU somewhere, I think the EU-USD rates are much more favourable. Are they? Or does the service only run in GBP? Or is it possible to get my design partner in the US make the order?

Anyway Hi  Glad to have found you

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

MJF is a new technology, however being improved it allows us to provide our customers with a more affordable offer. Also this technology requires less time needed to post-process parts than SLS, which also influences the price.

The currency used for payments is based on the billing information you provide at the checkout.
