What material is best

karoo
the mounting bracket of my cycling computer started tearing yesterday after riding long cobblestone sections.
as this is the second time I decided to give it a try to replace the bracket foot with a metal one.
As a dentist I came into contact with materialise when I was a student and they started printing drilling guides for guided implant placement.
I did not know about they started the i.materilialise site till yesterday, so I thought I would try this.
I did not know what material would suit my needs best. It should be highly accurate, but also smooth (as it cannot damage the mount on the bike), strong and suitable to use in the rain
I opted for the aluminum one but this one cannot be polished? is this correct?

so I have this in order right now. Is it possible to polish the surface of aluminum?

Hello Peter,
we can only offer the materials and finishes as mentioned on our website and as you could see aluminium polished is no option. I would propose to build this part in Polyamide (SLS). We have in our shop also a support for an adapter for mounting a Garmin Zumo above the panels (https://i.materialise.com/en/shop/item/africa-twin-crf1000l-garmin-zumo-gps-adapter?query=support&category=all-categories&sortBy=interesting&pageNumber=2&pageSize=18&index=9) and we sell this item a lot without any complaints. Polyamide can be ordered polished and dyed. Kind regards
