I just wanted to finish an order and was presented with what I had to pay and noticed that the VAT is being added on top of the price shown on previous pages.
Thats all fine and good but it adds 21% VAT to the price when it should be 19% for Germany.
Not sure if I’m missing something here or if that is a bug on the website.

Taxes are not always as easy as we think they should be.
I will try to simplify the explanation :
i.materialise is linked to Materialise N.V., which is a Belgian company we are obligated to charge Belgian tax , which is 21% as we do not have a German VAT number and hence cannot pay VAT to Germany.
If you have a German VAT number, you can enter it during the ordering process and there will be no VAT charged.

Good evening. I read your answer and even with it, it seems the VAT is not correct.
For an item value of 20,55€, it should be 4,11€ with French VAT (20%) or 4,3155€ with Belgian VAT (21%). But the cart shows 6,12€ (30%).

That is probably because VAT applies to the shipping cost as well - 8.60*0.21=1.81EUR
