Spots on gold plated brass

A client reports me that some spots are emerging on her gold plated brass ring. What can we do to remove or solve? IMG_0114

Thanks for addressing us with the nuisance you faced.

There are actually multiple reasons for the platting to spot out, some of them are mainly end-use related while others are technical/material related. The conditions of using, storing, and exposure to different factors impact the integrity and appearance of the plating. Normally, excessive contact with liquids(sweat) or an accidental touch of a chemical (i.e. detergent), harsh usage, or rubbing have a bad effect. Re-plating is always the way out, but it is important to have the history of a model’s usage.
