Solid is cheaper than hollow?

Im currently reviewing the Imaterialise options and features before ordering. Ive got 2 models, one solid and one hollowed. The models differ 1-2 mm in size. The hollowed version is 2mm thick.

The solid version is cheaper than the hollowed version. Why is that? Whats the point in hollowing the models if the price does not decrease? Ill take the heavier model any day

(limited to one screenshot) The solid version is priced 187.49£

Dear Molithaeus,
It might feel indeed contraditory.
For polyamide the material is not the biggest cost driver.
The space taken in the machine is.
Per material the cost driver is indicated on the pricing page : https://i.materialise.com/en/3d-printing-materials/pricing

regards,
Wim
