Silver finishing & costs

I don’t understand your pricing for silver finishes. I am looking for a polished surface for a bracelet.

For my uploaded 3D model, finishing options include Antique ($317) which appears to oxidize the surface, then polish for “very shiny and smooth outer surfaces” and High Gloss ($550) which has “very shiny and smooth surface”.

Why is Antique the cheapest finish with “very shiny and smooth surface”?

Hi there,

Thanks for your question.
In fact different finishes for one type of printing materials vary not only in cost and look, but also in the technology and time needed to fulfill.

  • Thus in case with Antique and High Gloss silver finishing, High Gloss option requires a different technology and more labor for the final output. The result is is a sleek and shiny surface in all spots and details are smooth and shiny.
  • Antique finish takes less time to achieve the result. The output here is also a sleek surface but the tone is different (darker). Also, recessed areas are darker and unsmoothed.

Ivan

I would love to choose a matte/satin finish for a gold ring. Is this available? I can only see the options to choose different grades & colors of gold, but not specify the finish.

Hello,

Matte/satin finish is only available for silver prints, unfortunately for gold this finishing is not offered.

Models in gold can be printed with the option to select purity (14k or 18k) and color at the output. The latter depends on the composition of the alloy used.

Ivan
