Should I change anything in this design?

Hello there,

I have a few questions regarding this file’s design. I’d like it printed in silver (high gloss) and I wonder whether this design is good enough to preserve at least some of the details.

If something’s wrong with the design please let me know what exactly would be the problem and I’ll change that. I’d like to keep this model around the length of 2.5 cm, so I’d prefer to change some details instead of making the model much bigger overall.

What worries me are those “edges” details as well as the trigger possibly? How about the overall thickness? Would all these be present after printing?

Thanks in advance!

Dear Adam,

Unfortunately, the walls of your model are not thick enough. This might cause fragile parts to break during printing. You can find the recommended minimum wall thickness for Silver in our design guide: http://i.materialise.com/en/3d-printing-materials/silver/design-guide#WallThickness

High Gloss models will undergo a manual mechanical polish. The polishing technique is the most aggressive and will erode your model by about 0.10 to 0.15 mm. Sharp corners will be rounded. Therefore, this technique will result in the lowest level of detail for Silver but provides the highest level of smoothness and shine.
