I am really curious about your services. I am working on some functional display props. By that I mean they will get some light handling and not be a purely static display in a case.
The parts need to have a high quality ‘jewelry’ quality look with no layer lines and nice smooth surfaces and crisp details as well as the gold plating being durable enough for some light handling or capable of being sealed with a protective gloss coating. Does this seem to be doable?

Models here are produced by means of wax printing & casting and depending on the finish you select, a polishing process takes place to eliminate printing features. For a proper detail visibility, we advise to design them at the size of min. 0.35mm with a ratio of 1:1 (e.g. 0.35mm wide thus 0.35mm high/deep).
We also offer a 6-month guarantee on colored PU coating (brass).

Is there any type of clear coat sealer/protective coating that is safe?
We offer a regular PU coating for certain precious metals and their finishing options. This protective layer of polyurethane has actually proved to be safe since it is commonly used in jewelry.
