Need help with Magics Software

Hello,

Maybe someone knows the best way to cut an angle (see img. - attached)? Because it’s too small to print with a 3D printer. And I do not want to use “Extrude” tool, because then the dimensions of the file will change.

Thank in advance.

Hello,

Try selecting the surface under the roof sides and extrude it downwards .

Hi,

Thanks, it helped.

Can you help with one more question? Shells does not touching, how to fix it? Automatic “Fix Wizard” does not helping.

Thank you in advance.

Again, just extrude the cylinder’s side upwards so that it intersects with the rest of the part by any measure (0.1 mm would do). Then run the fixing, it should be able to merge it into one part.

Yes, I tried to do that. I extrude the cylinder’s side upwards so that it intersects with the rest of the part. But the fixing tool can’t fix the errors. Some cylinders was fixed, some not. The problem is:

I measured the distance between the part and the cylinder. If the distance is equal (the surface of the cylinder is evenly distant from part), for eg. 0,1 mm and I extrude 0,1 mm. in that case the program can fix the errors. But if the cylinder’s one side closer to the part than the other (you can see it from the image) and I extrude 0,1 mm (one cylinder side goes deeper in the part) than the program can’t fix the errors.

That’s strange, it is unlikely that the uneven distance between the surfaces affects the fixing. There’s probably some other issue at play here.
Try selecting the whole cylinder (using mark shell tool) and separate it into a different part. Then select both parts and use the boolean tool.

It helped. Thanks for your help.
