Multicolor+ part design

I have a possible product in mind which I’d like to make with Multicolor+

While trying to keep this idea as proprietary as possible, it’s basically a thin disk about 3mm thick and right at the maximum size of 150mm in diameter.

I’d like to be able to put an image texture on one face of it, but from watching the video on the website, it looks like the color gets put on the edges of each layer. Does that mean that my 3mm x 150mm disk would be printed with layers perpendicular to its face?
