Hi,
I want to ask if there is a possibility to merge two parts with indicating in which place?
Thank you

Hi,

Giedrius
Hi Giedrius,
Do you want the merge done in software or to glue the physical parts after printing ?
tx,
Wim
Hi Wim,
I want to merge in software. I don’t want to print it separately. I’ll show you how it should be connected.
In the picture that was uploaded earlier, you can see green-marked places that I want to combine.
Thank you
Giedrius
Hi Giedrius,
If you upload the model in the position as shown in this image, I will have a look at it to see whether I can unify the 2 parts for you.
We usually don’t do this as there are several tools on the market you could use to do this.
But if it would be a simple unify operation, that is pretty easy.
So go to the upload section , log in and upload the model(s) , let me know when it is done and I will share the link with the unjifiedmodel.
Hi Wim,
the upload section? Where can I find this section?
Thank you
Wim,
I have uploaded files. In one STL file and separately.
Regards,
Giedrius
I sent you the link to the model.
Please check it
Wim
Wim,
Yes, I see the model. Thank you.
Can you tell me, have you merged parts with Magics? If so, can you tell me how? That in the future I could do it myself.
Thank you,
Giedrius
Hi,
Yes, I used the alignment tool and unify function in Magics.
Wim,
Thank you, but can you explain a bit more precisely? What constraint did you use in first entity and in second? I can not connect the parts correctly.
Thank you Wim,
Giedrius
Hi Giedrius,
I used the line to line constraint to align the parts in parallel and then point - point coinciding , I think…
to be honest I don’t remember exactly.
I tried a few combinations.
The 3 point constraints didn’t do the trick for the initial positions you uploaded the parts.
Possibly I tried it again in a later stadium
Not being an expert in Magics, it was a bit of trial and error for me but it didn’t take long though
Wim
Wim,
Thank you so much for your help.
If possible, one more question. I used the Honeycomb tool for this figure. But some small part are not necessary. Look at the picture:
How do you delete unnecessary parts?
Wim, thanks again for your help.
Giedrius
Hi Giedrius,
nice !
Indicate the edges and use the hole filler ?
Or manually put triangles over the gaps and then use the automatic fix to clean up the part and check with the section viewer ?
Lots of ways to do this…
Wim,
I like the first option, but I can’t find, how can I Indicate the edges. Which tool should I use?
Thank you,
Giedrius
hi Giedrius,
I tried it myself… and came to the conclusion that you are better of by first removing the triangles around the gap and than run the autofix.
I made some screenshots…
first select the triangles to remove, then remove, then run autofix
Wim,
Once again, thank you Wim for the help.
Regards,
Giedrius
