Hi iMaterialise fans,
Mastrolabacus is a more advanced version of the classic Astrolabacus puzzle by John D. Harris. The puzzle was suggested by Jared McComb, adding extra grooves around the outside. Whereas each part of Astrolabacus has two grooves, Mastrolabacus parts have five. And whereas the beads can only run in one groove for Astrolabacus, the beads can move through all grooves at the same time in the solved state of Mastrolabacus.
The object is to shapeshift the puzzle, the move and scramble the beads, and then try to solve the puzzle again.
Mastrolabacus is a puzzle that jumbles. At some of the states of the puzzle, some beads can move, but other ones cannot.
