The tolerances on metal lost wax casting + polishing are not completely clear to me. For example I see that a high gloss finish would “shave” 0.1 to 0.15 mm from the model. But does that mean each side of the model or total? Say I design a flat pendant 1.5 mm thick, is the polishing going to decrease the thickness 0.1 to 0.15 mm total or 0.1 to 0.15 mm on each side?
Should I also factor anything for thermal shrinkage of the wax, the mold and/or the metal?
