Internal channels with SLS printing?

Can SLS printed parts include small internal channels? (Polypropylene, 2-4mm in diameter)

Concerned about residual powder obstructing the channels. Trying to create internal guides for wiring.

Hi Nate,

2-4mm should be possible but the main thing is to keep in mind the length and the shape of the channels.
If it’s making circles in the part fit will not be possible. If the channels are not very long, straight and open on both sides we can just drill them open.
Curves in a channel are a lot harder to clean.

Followup, what is the smallest channel you would recommend to avoid it being fused closed? Ideally my channels would be 1.5mm in diameter.

Hi Nate,

We can do 1mm. It will not be fused.
However it also depends on the shape and length of the channel. 1mm can not be too long otherwise we won’t be able to get it open.
