Hello
I designed 2 parts that i want to print in Steel with gold platten and then polish it.
Each part is one half of a hallow ball, lower and upper.
Ball diameter is ~50.8 mm, with shell thickness of 3.5 mm.
Two parts of the ball will be connected with a hinge that is part of the design.
I attached sketches of the parts and their assembly.
My questions are:
-
As you wrote here: link
Steel 3D printing has 1% accuracy. does it mean that the other diameter of the ball will be in the tolerance: 50.8*0.01~0.5 ?
50.3 < Ball’s diameter < 51.3 -
Do you think the tolerance of the hinge is enough or you think i should change it ?

What do you think of the overall 3D printing design, from your experience, how do you think the final part will be ?
Thank you for the help !!
