Hi iMaterialise fans,
Fudgidron was suggested by Andreas Nortmann. It is a chamfered cube of which the chamfer faces have been fudged into a regular hexagon. Its closest relative is the Fudgedron, which is based on the geometry of a truncated octahedron. The main challenge of this design are the edges, which would jiggle loosely in the big gaps between adjacent hexagonal faces. The solution was to give each edge a centerboard that slides through grooves in the spherical core.
