First model printing :)

Hello, I have model that I want to print. Never done this before and need a help in order not to make mistake. My model is quite simple but with one tricky part.

Simplest solution would be to remove this spring but this is official maskot of student competition for 10 years so I don t have this options.

Questions are : What material should I use ? (I read guidelines but stil not sure which is right for me ;( ).

What is the best tool, is it CNC (5 axis) or 3D printing … any advice is welcome.

Hi Goran,

The spring is really quite a tricky part. To start off, it should be at least 1 mm / 0.04 inch thick. Though it can still break during shipment, so the thicker you make it, the better.

I can suggest only two 3D printing technologies suitable for this kind of shape: Laser Sintering (SLS) and Multi Jet Fusion (MJF).
You can learn about the available materials in the links above.

We don’t provide CNC services and I doubt it would work anyways.

Another option is 3D printing the statue and making the spring from another material by hand. A wire of some sort, maybe. Good luck!
