Disk Differential by OSKAR

Hi iMaterialise fans,

Disk Differential is a novel design for a blocking differential. Inspired by the Torsen differential, this differential features two large plates with linear spirals, and six small gears. When the differential is driven like a car differential, then the big yellow gear powers the red and green wheels. When going through a bend or corner, the differential allows one wheel to spin faster than the other, and both remain powered. However, when one wheel slips, then the differential locks up, making sure that all torque goes to the other wheel. And when both wheels have grip again, the differential automatically unlocks. The question is whether this novel design would have any value for the car industry.
