Design rules on screw thread

Hello,

I’m used to work with all kind of metals. But for a new project we have a printed part (Alumide), in which we want to make screw thread.

Are there any design rules on creating screw thread, like thread-size in relation to thread length?

Hello Jillis,

We don’t have specific recommendations for designing threads, other than the general design guidelines. The material is also suitable for tapping threads directly in the 3D printed parts, which is what we usually recommend.
