I’m looking for a suggestion on the type of material to use on the master of a block & case mold for ceramic slip casting. My ideal material would be high-detail surface finish with no finishing required.
I’m familiar with 3D printing technologies, and know that one of the resins will be my best bet. From those who have used mammoth resin, are there significant striations? I would default to the high-detail resin, but some of my models fall outside of the maximum build volume.
Thank you in advance.
Block & Case Mold - Material Suggestions
Good Morning Mark,
Thank you for your interest in i.materialise. I read your message and I beleive the best option for your mold is to build it in a resin. Unfortunately the platform sizes of our machines are limited to the sizes mentioned on our website. In you case we believe it is maybe better for your to look at the Materialise website www.materialise.com
There under manufacturing you can go to products and services and manufacturing. On this page you can “get in touch” with our colleagues there and I am sure they will be able to help you further with your project.
Thank you very much & have a nice day!
Kind regards,
Annick
