Best Plastic to replicate Bronze

I plan to print a model in bronze. I have lots of subtle texture, and don’t know if it will show up in the final print. The model is is about 2’’ in size. Does the casting process smooth out the bronze?

I want to print a cheaper plastic test print before I do it in bronze so I know how it looks and if I need to add more texture for it show up in final print.

Which plastic should I use that would be a good approximate what the bronze print will look like?

Also for polished bronze, can you polish only parts of a model that I specify and not the whole model?

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in our company. The polish smooths out the bronze, but if you want all the details are preserved as well as possible, I suggest you to read the design guide of bronze and follow the instructions.

As far as your question is concerned about printing your item in a cheaper plastic, it will be difficult to compare, because they are printed with a different technology. But if I need to advise 1 plastic, I suggest you our high detail resin. This resin is ideal for small models that require fine details.

Thank you,

Also when doing a polished option, can I specify which areas get polished and which don’t? I want my model to have some parts rough and some polished.

Hello,

To answer your last question, unfortunately we do not offer this service.
