Best metal for exposure to direct flame?

I have a small part (under 3 inches) that is going to be exposed to direct flame (liquid propane/gasoline), what is the most cost effective metal to use?
Thank you

Well it turns out only one metal is available for my model, so it is a mute point, will see how steel works when exposed to direct flame.

Hello,

We’d advise to use either high-detail stainless steel or titanium since they have a higher temperature withstanding threshold.

Thank you, the high detail stainless steel was not an option for my part (part was too big), and titanium is prohibitively expensive for the application. Guess I will try Steel and see how it holds up.
