Are holes in model printable?

My model has many 3mm diameter holes that are integral to its function.
Can it be printed?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us. Holes can be printed however the feasibility depends on design and chosen technology. If you would like to discuss it further, please respond to my last e-mail.

Thanks.

Best regards,
Tetiana

Hello,

I’d like to know if it’s possible to print a 1 mm diameter hole with silver? If it’s possible, what will be the tolerance of its diameter? It’s very important because this hole is fonctionnal.

Thanks a lot

Hello,

We can indeed print a hole in a silver item, but the silver we print, is only for cosmetical reasons, not functional. The clearance for the silver that we offer is 0,3mm. Hereby, I will send you the link to the design guide of silver where you can find more information : https://i.materialise.com/en/3d-printing-materials/silver/design-guide

thanks

Yes, you can easily print any kind of object that has holes in it. All you need to do is add these as a part of your 3D printer settings. Also, you need to consider whether the holes are horizontal or vertical in the object.
